Biologically Appropriate Raw Food (BARF) Also known as the raw diet. I do a kibble and raw diet, due to lack of freezer space. I use Nature's Variety kibble and raw patties.I researched this diet for over a year. I started with the Dr Ian Billinghurst book "Give Your Dog A Bone" and took it to internet research from there. My vet (Dr. Terri Wolfe, Sunset Animal Clinic in Suisun) is a BARF feeder herself! I'm very excited to see the results in my dogs. Trixie had HORRID breath and teeth, and has had chronic tummy issues for about 2 years now. Betty's health is good, but her line is prone to cancer so I'm hoping to head that off at the pass. I will raise her litter the BARF way too. This diet really is the optimal diet for dogs and cats. Since growth is regulated properly by this diet, hip dysplasia and other orthopedic woes can be controlled if not eliminated from our dogs.
